Eid al Fitr

Dear all

As Ramadan comes to a close, all Muslims will celebrate its culmination with Eid al Fitr, which is expected to be this coming weekend (either Saturday, August 18 or Sunday, August 19).

To allow all Muslim students the time to observe religious practices as well as to partake in the festivities of the holiday, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau (SACB) has kindly requested all ESL partners (which includes CCEL) allow their students an excused absence (EA) for Monday, August 20.  As such, please mark any Muslim students in your classes with an EA for next Monday.

The SACB further states that "[...] should any testing, evaluations be scheduled or assignments be due on that day we would sincerely appreciate it if you would allow for an alternate date at a reasonable period of time in consideration of the weekend and the added day off".
